I'm not sure what's going on with Manchester results website however this morning all our gun times are showing as the same as chip times.

http://www.chiprace.co.u...38&RId=932&EId=1

It's a shame as I haven't had a lot to shout about in the last couple of years running wise however I was going to make a case to Mick for extending the "London Pride" award (to add another - Can of Boddingtons = Pride of Manchester) to include other spring marathons!

I'm sure Mick has run the numbers already howver in case he hasn't, here are mine (I was going to do the others however the bug above stopping that for now)

Start time 0:03:50
Gross Net
10km 0:53:28 0:49:38
10m 1:22:21 1:18:31
half 1:47:16 1:43:26
20m 2:41:45 2:37:55
Finish 3:30:35 3:26:45

2nd Half 1:43:19

H1-H2 0:00:07 Negative

These are my splits - chip time (finally!)

7 km 00:33:35
10 Kilometres 00:48:51
10 Mile 01:17:55
Half Marathon 01:42:10
20 Mile 02:35:55
Finish 03:24:41

I got a 21 sec positive split! So no Londons Pride (should't be Boddingtons?) for me. I thing you deserve a Boddingtons for that!

7 km 00:44:48
10 Kilometres 01:05:36
10 Mile 01:46:06
Half Marathon 02:20:13
20 Mile 03:36:03
Finish 04:47:22

Mine is evidence of too much focus on 20 miles as the longest training run. Wheels fell off on mile 22, though I picked it up for the last 3 miles. If I'd maintained the pace after mile 20 I would have run nearer 4:43. Oh well, there's always the next one ................

Seriously well done, Gerry.
However, my competitions only extend as far as there being some decent beer to award, so I'm afraid Boddingtons does not qualify. If you'd gone to Llanelli I could have considered the Feeling Foul (Felinfoel) Double Dragon Trophy, so I'll leave that to Oli, James and Marcus.
I couldn't help but notice that you were the only Croupier not to record a PB - but then again, you still have the fastest PB of any member who did run.
I'm also just beginning to fathom the rationale behind your spectacular decline over the these last few years - and I'm sure John Griffin et al are savvy enough to see this premeditated attempt to win the Most Improved Runner of the Year Award for 2015. And of course, there's always the Handicap 10 for next year.
Of course, I could be completely wrong. 3:42 down to 3:27 in just 12 months is pretty impressive. Just think, if you can keep that rate of progression going you'll be world record holder by 2021!

Can I very belatedly say congratulations to everyone, some great times there! I got my acount blocked somehow.Well done to everyone who competed in the other Marathons too!

I was feeling reasonably ok on Saturday night and I very nearly drove up after I came out of the Cinema at midnight with my girlfriend!

A horrible feeling not running but it wasn't meant to be in the end! Sad

Thanks Mick, wish I was clever enough to plan it like that! Being the only one not to recond a p.b. does put it in perspective - conditions were nigh on perfect to begin: dry, cool and still (though the wind did subsequently pick up). Other factors to help make it a 'good' race were the course being flat and wide with a high percentage of club runners (very few professionals or charity runners). Finally, the actual number running meant it was not too crowded. Gerry

PS: I'm planning to stay in London for w/e so will see you all in Old Shades if not on course. Good luck!
