I've just found this, thought it worth a repost (with a couple of edits)

Cross Country/Gwent League newbies - thought it might be helpful to you to post a few points about Gwent League:

1. You need to let Phil, Aine or Julie Scholey know in advance that you plan to run, as they do team entries. You can do this via posts on the club FB page, or on the LCRC forum.
2. There's no cost (to you) to run - the club pays your entry fee.
3. You must wear your club vest to run.
4. Car sharing encouraged. Parking tends to be limited, but more importantly, it's more fun when you're not on your tod. Aim to arrive on site an hour before your race, head for the red & green LCRC tent and 'check in' with the club captains - who have to confirm teams on the day. Then join the extra-long loo queue.
5. Ladies are encouraged to stay on after their race to support the men, men encouraged to arrive early to cheer on the ladies. Families encouraged (though don't ask my children about the time I bribed them to come to Brecon with the promise of icecream, only to find the icecream shop shut!)
6. Stuff to bring - at least one change of shoes, lots of layers, waterproofs/wellies in bad weather. A few £ for a cuppa (usually a tea/coffee van on site), snacks (tho see below). Maybe wet wipes/towel for particularly muddy day, plastic bags for wet/muddy kit. Cake.
7. Cake eating obligatory. If you can bake, bake. If you can't bake, M&S can. :-)
8. And if the cake incentive isn't enough - if you run every fixture in the season, a LCRC Gwent League mug is yours to keep!
9. Every finisher for the club counts. Whether you're a faster or a slower runner, run! If you're used to running on the road/pavement, have a trial lap of Pontcanna Fields before the day ... you'll discover it's pretty leg-sapping to run on grass/through mud...so you may not want to set off as fast as you do on a road run.
10. At the finish you'll go into a finish funnel - keep in finish order til you get given a finish token. Before you leave the finish area you then hand this over to the Croups person collecting the Les Croups tokens - often John Griffin, might be helpful to tell John your name.
11. Get some layers on then bask in the glory of your first XC. Eat cake. Cheer on other runners. Remember the Croups tent needs taken down and packed away at the end of the day.

Not that I can see yet Geoff ... I think it's fairly common for them to take quite a few days to appear, and then they'll be on the Gwent League website, https://www.gwent-league.org.uk/

The customary McChadders guide for Cross Country/Gwent League newbies - thought it might be helpful to you to post a few points about Gwent League, ahead of the first fixture of the season this Saturday:
