Those of you who cycle may be interested in this I have poster which I can email.

The Chartered Institute of Building, with the support of Road Safety Wales, invite cyclists and colleagues of the construction industry to an "exchanging places" opportunity followed by presentations from two speakers explaining improvements in the construction of the built environment for the benefit of our communities and particularly cyclists. The CIOB will be encouraging cyclists to sit in the cab of a truck to experience for themselves the visibility from the drivers' point of view with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of large vehicles amongst the cycling community. This will be followed by presentations from the speakers on construction logistics and particularly the cycle safety issue that is very prominent in the construction press at the moment and also the Active Travel (Wales) Act.

You may be interested in attending the “exchanging places” event and / or the presentations. Further details attached.

The event is to be held on the morning of Thursday 23rd October 2014 at the Sport Wales Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

For bookings please contact Vicky Coxon, email: vcoxon@ciob.org.uk, tel: 0845 0706141.
