Confirming the group run from Cafe Castan from the Oval at 9.30 Sunday - distances generally 10m to Castell Coch, 12m to car park at top, or 16m for Coq Noir - the more of us there are the more groups can run together, so would be appreciated if those intending to take part can post here. Look forward to seeing a big turnout! I'm intending to do the 16m.

Thanks for posting Dave. Yes I'll be there for the 16. Derek Brockway has promised a dry weekend, so no excuse for not being there. Look forward to meeting up.

I will be there, I think Alan Davies might be coming along to.It will give me a chance to test out my new daps.

I hope my legs are not aching too much after my failed sub 18 5km attempt today. (18 dead) Sad

I was only going to do 12 but I may bow to peer pressure! Not sure how it will go as my longest run since the marathon was the Sospan 10. I'll be dead slow so sorry Ange and Tim in advance!

Well they were Katys sweets but you looked in need. Glad you are feeling better. I found it very tough today.

Struggled big time, what do people eat before a long run as I really seem to struggle if I don't eat enough?

I generally go for a bowl of porridge about an hour before. I'll use gels or energy drinks if I'm out for more than two hours.

Al, I never use to eat and found I use to get dizzy and hungry like you were today. Learned my lesson and hence why I take water, a sweet drink and a gel (which I forgot today) to ensure I don't suffer. Its a horrible feeling and knocks your confidence but your be back leading the way!!

cheers

Hope you're feeling better Alun, don't worry, probably just one of those things. Paul and I never eat much before a long run except chocolate LOL jelly beans are good to carry with you, instant source of energy and they have helped me in the past. You will be back kicking butt next time!! Thanks everyone for the great company BigGrin

You dig them straight back out! I'm going to need you down the track this week!

As I said I have been caught out on long runs and even short ones with that problem! You wont get it in a race because you should be better prepared.

You are the best person for me to train with on the track because your that bit faster than me. Your going to smash that sub 18 minute 5km before you know it! You have got a lot more to acheive besides that to!

I'm sure you will be better prepared next time.ThumpUp
