I was looking forward to watchingthe European x-country champs on the red button today. The course lloked almost as tough as Builth yesterday... almost.

Although there was some great racing overall it was sad to see in the under 23 men that Russia took all 3 podium positions considering the skull-duggery thats recently been exposed regarding dope testing etc. Especially when one of the 3 finished 51st last year.

Also how pissed off must the genuine European men be when the first 3 finishers in the senior mens race were 1st; Turkey (Kenyan), 2nd Turkey (Kenyan), 3rd Spain (Kenyan), all recently swapped loyalty although still living and training in Kenya.... very sad.

As an Irish person running for Wales I can't comment on people running for other countries but what is more worrying is that Spain's third placed runner is a known drugs cheat.

Not having watched the above race I can't realy say much but someone did say to me once they didn't like the way that runners could change their country so they could compete in a high profile competition. I do remeber Zola Bubb being given a GB pasport so she could compete at the Olympics as South Africa was baned because of arpethic. Then when she did compete, there was that incident with Mary Decker.
