Hi All

I'm still looking for help for the Night of Endurance on Saturday 9th July, the venue has now changed to Leckwith Stadium. The first race will be at 6pm and the final race will be finished by 9.30pm.

I've had a few names already but I'm still in need for help with lap scoring and "stewards", you won't miss any of the action, in fact you will be right up there close to it.

I also need one or two to run the beer tent - you have to be over 18.

Number collection will start from 4pm, I have 1 person doing this but extra help would be great.

In order for the event to work as planned I do need your help, so do please come and help out.

Thanks

Phil

If anyone can help out I'd be really grateful, we have 60+ entries for the 10K and 15+ for the 1 mile

Thanks Ralph, if you could be there about 5.30pm and go to the Welsh Athletics tent just past the finish line that would be great.

Agreed, Alan. The concept of distance track events is quite hard to sell - and 10000 on the track is infinitely harder than a 10km road race with a few thousand runners. However, last night was a learning curve for all and it was great to be part of it. You just can't beat a floodlit track meeting - close up the athletes seem to be going so fast!
Top marks to Phil for going to see the Highgate Harriers Night of Endurance (which this was based on) and trying to replicate in a Welsh setting. Congrats to everyone competing and of course, many thanks to everyone who came and supported.
And the proof of the pudding is in the result: In last year's Welsh 10000 metres championship in Newport there was a single male runner and he clocked 38:43. Last night's championship was a great race and win for Carwyn Jones in 31:23.
