This Sunday is the planned date for the next Group Run, we trialed one back in October which seemed to work OK, but we are looking at ways of getting the maximum out of it. As a result of this we are looking to have paced groups, that way everyone gets to run with someone all the way.

We will be looking to start at 9.30am, the plan is to run the CPR Half Marathon route, starting at the Oval (Handicap 10 start) so will be up around 14 miles, but this can be shortened if required, we can work out who is doing what on Sunday.

We are hoping to have groups running at the equivalent of : 60 ; 65 ; 70 ; 75 ; 80 mins for 10 miles, so if you fancy the role of pacing let me know. If other groups are required we will do our best to cater for them.

If you could let me know if you plan on being there or not so that we know who we are looking out for that would be great.

Thanks

Phil

Id like to start running longer runs so would be up for this, I can pace the 80 minutes for the 10 miles if that helps.

I've only just seen this post (not sure why) but this is a brilliant idea. I'm only recently back up to 10 slow miles so might be a bit much for me at the moment. I'll definitely want to get involved over the next few weeks.

Dont plan on hitting the longer miles i.e. 10+ until the new year (once I start my marathon training). I will definitely be up for it then - much easier to do long runs with company!

Hi, I'm hoping to make this - may be a bit slower than the 80 minute group but will give it a go.

Thanks Phil for today - Made such a very long run seem short with such great company from the club(special thanks to Alun and Nicky) only problem have not done a thing for the rest of the day still in recovery mode.

Well done Phil and thanks once again for putting it together.

Excellent session today, Phil. The weather made it pretty much perfect for a long Sunday run, and the fact that people were prepared to state what pace they wanted to run I think helped the various groups stay together for longer, which has got to be good given the spectrum of ability and age. Really enjoyed the company and looking forward to next time already.

Thanks Phil for organising. Not that I started with everybody, but instead of starting at Llandaff fields, I joined in later. But it was really good that there were so many people out running at the various paces, that towards the end when Mike, Alun and Nicky picked up the pace, I was able to drop back and run with Mick and Jen. The last few miles back home were much harder without the company!
