First up, good luck to everyone running the Cardiff Half Marathon tomorrow.
As races get bigger, planning is needed in order not to find that the race you wanted to run is full.
That's the price we pay for on line entry.
Wokingham is a race I have run many times and I would recommend.
It's also a great gauge for those of you with marathon aspirations for the Spring.
First held in 1984,it's a quick course and not too big a race (around 3000).
You'll need to plan your logistics - it's around 3 or 4 miles off the M4 (junction 10).
Two hours in a car - 10 AM start.
Many Croups have run it so ask people what they thought.
We've won the team event a few times, so we have a reputation to preserve/enhance.
Entries have just opened - £22 is pretty reasonable compared to some.

hurrah, doesn't clash with Gwent League as it has done some years. I'm hopeful of doing this one.
Although I've just noticed it does clash with Llanelli Half .. boo!

Wokingham Half Marathon 2018

Dear Running Club,

Entries are now open for the 32nd Wokingham Half Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 18th February.

This gold standard event offers athletes an early opportunity to check their fitness levels after the winter training and with its fast and rural course has proved very popular in the past.

Due to the restrictions at Cantley Park and on the course the race is limited to 3000 entries, so it is advisable to enter as soon as possible. This can be done directly from our website http://www.wokinghamhalfmarathon.co.uk using the Run Britain link or by downloading an entry form.

This year we are pleased to confirm that David Cliff Estate Agents and Freeborn Group Wokingham are again sposoring this event.

Regards

Peter Evans. Chairman of the Organising Committee

Booked! Smile

Missed it due to flooding and a chest infection so hopefully 3rd time is a charm!

A little reminder. 9 Croups now entered.
This is a great early warm up race for a Spring marathon, and will sell out.
Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Wokingham website states 2000 entries now received and projected closing date 8th February.
Handicap 10 will be a nice warm up for this one!

Shortly after this year's Wokingham HM it was announced that this was to be the last.
I had assumed this was due to a major housing development.
I've just an E Mail saying that the Race will take place on 24 February 2019 under new management.
