These are one mile races on the track.( 4 laps not too far!) All ages from children up to masters. Starts at 6:30 at UWIC on their out door track. £4 entery plus £2on the nignt for welsh masters. Thanks for the heads up, Tracey.
This isn't your average track meet.
First up, given the scarcity of track and field opportunities this summer in South Wales, this is a great opportunity.
It's a James Thie production. 27th June is James's 40th birthday. The mile was always pretty much James's best distance, and with a PB of 3:57 he is still No:3 on the Welsh all-time list.
But there's an additional personal tale to tell. James lost his father to pancreatic cancer at age 41, so that's the main reason behind this meeting. I E Mailed James in advance to ask if there was any restriction on numbers, given that we tend to support events en masse. The message came back loud and clear - the more the merrier.
It's also three days before Phil's Night of Endurance - an ideal warm up!
