Hi Everyone, it is with great pleasure that I can announce that due to the generosity of the Committee, Les Croupiers Running Club will once again be competing in the Rack Raid this year on SUNDAY 2ND JUNE 2019.

For those unfamiliar with the event, think of it as a 1-day version of the Castle's relay, with a wider variety of stages and a few less teams. It is however just as competitive and in many cases the 13 stages are actually more challenging. Competitors must be able to run an absolute maximum of 9 minute mileing on all stages.

Probably the best feature of the race is that the teams must be mixed, either 7 men / 6 ladies or vice versa.

Once again Ralf, Mel and I have put our hands up to organise the event, but we will be looking for assistance nearer the time. For now, what we are looking for is an indication of those who would be available for the Rack Raid on 2nd June and CANNOT run Castles the week after. As usual, the club will pick the teams for both relays together, giving Castles preference.

This will be the 4th time Les Croupiers has entered in recent years. There is no reason why we can't again aim for top 4 this year!

Thanks everyone in advance and if you want more info, here's the link to the event page https://www.facebook.com/FairwaterRunnersRackRaid/

Very many thanks for posting, David.
I'd love to do the Rack Raid if I don't make the Castles Team.

Like Mick I'm up for the rack raid if I'm too decrepit to make it onto castles team! Thoroughly recommended to those who haven't been involved with it before. I can also help out on the day if needed Dave

Nothing like a challenge, Dave. A target for June 2019. Always available.

Hi David

I have said I am available for the Castles but if not selected I am also free for the Rack Raid if quick enough. Loved the Rack Raid 2 years ago and would recommend the experience to everyone

I am interested also if I can stay injury free and of course quicker than my current pace. Didn't think I would be running again after 2 years out with a back injury, so booked a holiday when I was injured for the Castles Weekend, so couldn't be considered for that anyway.

Although likely to be at the slower end of the team if selected, I could be tempted to put my name forward for this. I've said I'm available as a reserve for Castles the following weekend, but they are extremely unlikely to get down as far as me for that. BigGrin

Never done anything like this before, but I understand that the standard may well be beyond me, and that's fine.

Cheers,

Chad
