Les Croupiers Virtual Short Course Championships!

Virtual 5km

As there is no chance of completing any of our Club Champs Series this year we have decided to use the 1, 2, 3 and 4 mile virtual time trials we ran in May and the CSS Series as the basis for a Virtual Short Course championships.
The BMAF Virtual Relays are taking place between 14th and 20th June. Over the same period we are going to run the club 5km challenge as an additional Virtual Time Trial to join the 1,2,3 and 4 miles already run and the CSS Virtual Summer Series (http://www.cardiffrunningevents.org/cardiff-summer-series.php). This is a chance to set your fastest 5km of the Virtual Season.
Rules:

1- 5km to be run between 14th and 20thJune
2- Run in your club vest. It was great seeing our “virtual castles” teams out in their vests so grab some photos and put them on the FB, Instagram and twitter feeds.
3- Adhere to social distancing rules.
4- The course should be as close to flat as reasonable. No more than 25ft downhill otherwise time penalties will be applied.
5- If you are a master athlete please also enter the BMAF road relays as the club is short in several of the Age Categories. Entry is free and is on this link: https://data.opentrack.r...zf8FY8MYccmhsrukk9RzgUbQ

Points will be awarded for all age categories as if they were normal championships. Come on LC, get out there and represent your club!

Hi Marcus

What about the ‘virtual’ Bannister Miles. I obviously wouldn’t be asking if I had a quicker mile.

I will do a 5k but I think there are enough quicker athletes in my age category to worry about entering the BMAF event.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Marcus

Can we use the same run for our 5k challenge and the BMAF relays?

Cheers

Hi Marcus,

Sorry for this post but I forgot to as how we are supposed to be recording/registering the virtual club 5k challenge?
I'm still lucky enough to be just under the BMAF lower age cut-off, so obviously haven't registered online for it!
I'll run the 5k distance anyway but would like to know how to submit timings once I do.

Is there was an alternative solution for recording results for those of us in the club who fall in to this category?!
If so, is this being done electronically or should we just submit a honest timing of our efforts to you?!

Also, a well done to everyone already chalking up the BMAF runs, especially since the heavens have opened in the last 24hrs!
As Mick McGeoch says, we're not a 'fairweather' club! How could we be - it's running in South Wales after all?!

Done mine, in the rain as well. Put in on the BMAF results site, but in case you need it here as well it was 24:03.

Hi Martin,
Just post your time here and a link to your Strava or Garmin gps track and we will record it on the results.

Cheers

Hi Marcus - I'm guessing if we entered the BMAF race then someone will just pull out result from the open track site?

I did mine on Tuesday and was pleased with my time - tried again today to see if I could better it but no can do so have entered my quicker time from Tuesday.

Well done Chads. You've been in great form since your marathon effort. It's just a shame you can't chalk these up in formal races. I'm sure you'd be going even faster!

FAO Marcus/results team, here's my effort - (20:39 5k) for the club challenge (SM). I made the mistake of doing it over a slightly undulating course. Oh well!
I know I'm lacking for speed right now but am enjoying my running, so who cares?! BigGrin

Thanks Marcus and committee for putting the whole thing together to keep our collective motivation up.
