I am sure that Claire will be delighted to see you in the team. Spikes are not expensive and make you feel like a proper 'athlete'.They can't be used for anything else so it will increase the motivation to do all of the series (and you get the priceless mug). 12 or 15mm are best for the usual gloop. More importantly arrive early, bring cakes and a flask, and have fun.

I recommend Walsh Running Studs.

if the weather is really bad then these give amazing grip and if the weather is dry or the course has gravel then these wont hurt while running over hard surfaces...

Thanks for sharing. If my hobble continues to improve, I'd love to try some XC cake-eating

But I'm confused - according to the new Gwent League fixture list, one event in 2013/14 is to be held in Gwent (is this a first?)

AND it doesn't even begin with 'B' (aka the usual venues: Bath, Bridgend, Bristol, Bwansea etc)

Blaenavon would have worked...

Ange, on the off-chance you have feet-like-boats I have a pair of size 7 ladies spikes I won't be wearing for at least the first couple of XC fixtures, you're welcome to borrow them to try out.

(absolutely no offence intended if you have dainty size 3s ... I'm struggling to put names to faces/shoes sizes this evening)

Have put in some excellent last minute cake eating training ahead of this Saturday. Feel i am on top form.

Just thought i would advise that there are major roadworks going on in Pontypool. Not sure if this is a problem at the weekends but worth bearing in mind ahead of travelling on Saturday.
