Great to see Dai Greene through to the semis.

But is Katarina Johnson-Thompson the biggest name in UK Athletics? 24 charaters by my count...Wink

Looking forward to 400 Hurdles, mens and womens both looking good for at least the final and maybe a medal, perhaps should add as new event for next year's track day?!

I'm worried about Mo in the 5000m. He may struggle. Unsure

Good idea Rob! Should be fun / dangerous. The Pole Vault would be good too, always wanted to try that.

Mo won't win I bet maybe silver or bronze. They've sussed his tactics by now surely? Or is there no-one with the pace to take the sting out of his finish?

decent run of 2.16.42 by Paul Pollock of Ireland in the marathon. At least Ireland entered an athlete. GB Athletics needs an overhaul. We have decent talent here! Angry

Well a couple of UK men are decent enough to have just about scraped under the IAAF qualification standard. But not decent enough to be remotely competitive and not within a minute of Paula's WR! They would have finished close to 2 miles behind the winner.

Well that was funSmile . And a whole generation of very talented and likeable GB athletes to look forward toCool . And I still can't believe Farah won the 5000m - every time I see the repeat, I still expect him to get run down having gone for home with 700m to go..ThumpUp

Shame about the inability of our male sprinters to complete a 4x100m without getting DQdThumbDown (6 out of 7 consecutive failures now at a major championship, making England's record in penalty shoot-outs look Germanic by comparison). Someone has clearly put a curse on our chaps, the removal of which will only follow the dropping of the cheat ChambersAngry

Also long overdue deselection (IMO...) the gibbering BBC commentary team, who just go from bad to worse - Michael Johnson the massive exception needless to say. The rude voice overs, creepy Phil Jones interviewsCrying , slow motion repeatsBored and over extended BBC HD dittysSad are also getting so tedious - I think the Editor plays these whenever he/she is told 'there's nothing but field events on now'Cursing . Did they learn nothing from London 2012??Confused Lots of us couch potatoes love watching field events (cover to cover for maximum dramaOhMyGod ) - we're also interested in all-comers, not just those who win stuff and Team GB

Is it just me? I'm getting on so this may just be more curmudgeoning on my part! Thank goodness for EurosportLove - and emoticons...
